“Lieutenant Zechs,” both soldiers said as they saluted.
“Step away from the lady and be on your way, it’s obvious she doesn’t want to be
near you,”Zechs said stepping forward and the man backed up, both hands raised as if to
show no ill intentions. Meanwhile Suzanna had stood there, transfixed as she looked at
Zechs.
“There’s something familiar about him,”she thought to herself,”I could swear that
at some point I knew him. Maybe I met him in passing or something.”
Lost in her own thoughts she hadn’t even noticed that now the tall man stood
infront of her and when she snapped out of her thoughts she looked up sharply, surprised.
“Okami?” He questioned softly as he looked down at her, his voice ringing with
ucnertainty.
She took a step back and shook her head slightly.
“Why does everyone think I’m this Okami person? My name is Suzanna,”she
explained as she looked at him while crossing her arms around her waist.
“You look like her,”Zechs stated simply,”My mistake. I’m sorry.”
She shifted her weight uncomfortably and Zechs spoke up.
“Well Miss Suzanna... I didn’t quite catch your last name,”Zechs said as he noticed
the weight shift.
It was then that it dawned on her she hadn’t bothered to really find out much about
who she apparently was.
Looking down even more, her arms tightened around herself as she replied
quietly,”Well... I don’t exactly know. I don’t remember anything about myself actually.
Except what the people at the hospital who took me home told me. They say they’re my
parents and that I’m Suzanna but.... I forgot to ask about anything else.”
She grinned almost sheepishly and shrugged slightly as she slowly looked up.
Zechs’ mind was working swiftly as he pieced things together because he found it highly
strange that Okami’s death had happened two weeks prior and now their was the
appearance of this girl who looked and sounded like her with amnesia.
“It’s allright. Do you know how to get back to your house. I can send an
escort,”he said as he took a step closer and as he did he had an ingenious idea.
“Infact,”he continued,”I’ll even escort you myself. To make sure you get there
allright.”
She shook her head slightly and said as she uncrossed her arms,”That’s allright.
Thank you anyway but I should be able to make it home allright myself.”
“Very well,”Zechs said in reply, a grin on his face and as she walked off he turned
to the men standing there. Once she was out of hearing range he said to them.
“Follow her and report back to me about who exactly she is and where she lives as
well as other information that I will be needing.”
They saluted and chorused,”Yes sir.”
As Zechs watched them hurry off to do his bidding he smirked and whispered to
himself,”I’ll find out your secret Miss Suzanna. I highly suspect you are Lieutenant
Okami but you just don’t remember it all quite yet.”
